Because fish and other aquatic life depend on dissolved oxygen (DO) in water, ORSANCO monitors DO conditions at 13 Ohio River locations.  From May through October, ORSANCO receives DO data transmitted from electronic monitors at navigational dams operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and hydropower plants.
