Definition “Information Request” collectively refers to both publication and data requests.
“Publication Request” means a request for any report or study previously published by the Commission, copies of which are kept on hand ready for distribution.
“Data Request” means a request for information or data not previously published by the Commission, the fulfillment of which requires staff time in locating and compiling material responsive to the request.
Request Format All information requests, with the exception for requests for copies of the Annual Report or general information documents, must be submitted in writing. The request should specifically describe the publication or data sought.
Fulfillment Time Information requests will be a lower priority than the regularly scheduled Program Plan activities, but should not take more than one month to fulfill. Where the information sought in a data requests, however, is unusually voluminous or requires extensive searching of records, the fulfillment period may be longer than one month. In the event, the Commission will notify the requesting party of the expected fulfillment time.
Payment of Fees Payment for publication requests must be made in advance. Payment for data requests must be made upon fulfillment, except where the requesting party has previously failed to pay fees or where the estimated costs of fulfillment exceeds $50.00 in which case payment will be required in advance. Payment must be made by check to ORSANCO. The following schedule of fees applies to all information requests:
Postage and Handling: $5.00 (unless cost exceeds that amount) via U.S. Postal Service or UPS Ground
Copies: $0.25 per page/per side
Diskette/CD: $5.00/$10.00
Staff Time: $40.00 per hour (2 hour minimum)
Accelerated Data Request If the data sought is available and requested for delivery in less than one week, 50% surcharge will be added.
Fee Exemptions Information requests from government agencies, water and waste treatment facilities, and education institutions shall be free of charge, providing the request can reasonably be filled with staff time of two hours or less and less than hundred pages of duplication.
Procedure All information requests should be made through the Public information department. It may be passed to a technical staff member (if required).
