National Rivers and Streams Assessment

The National Rivers and Streams Assessment (NRSA) is a US EPA program to evaluate the ecological condition of the nation’s rivers and streams. During the 2018 and 2019 field seasons, ORSANCO was a partner in this program. ORSANCO staff collected physical, chemical and biological data at numerous rivers and streams within the Ohio River basin. The NRSA is a collaborative survey. This program requires multiple partners to collect and manage the data. ORSANCO submitted the data to the US EPA, which makes that data, and the data collected by all the program partners, available to the public from its website. ORSANCO also partnered during the 2013 / 2014 and 2008 / 2009 field seasons.
