The Ohio River Recreation Trail (ORRT) connects people and communities to opportunities for adventure on and along the Ohio River. The vision of the volunteer-led ORRT steering committee is to create a 274-mile land and waterway self-guided adventure trail that connects people to opportunities for outdoor adventure, recreation, and discovery on and along the Ohio River from Portsmouth, Ohio to West Point, Kentucky.
It will serve to promote tourism and economic development; facilitate education about the valley’s unique history, culture and beauty, and promote environmental awareness and safety, respecting lands and waters with a “Leave No Trace” ethic. The trail can be enjoyed from either land or water by paddlers, power boaters, cyclists, motorists, hikers, and more.
