Aquatic Biologist (Level I-II)

ORSANCO is seeking applicants to fill one Aquatic Biologist (Level I-II) position. Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field is required. A master’s degree with emphasis in areas such as environmental sciences, aquatic biology, or ecology is preferred. Primary tasks involve planning and participating in field surveys (night-time electrofishing, macroinvertebrate sampling, and various abiotic data collections). The position is full-time exempt and based out of ORSANCO’s office in Cincinnati, OH; field travel up to two-weeks per month (June-October, annually) is common. Data management and analyses are also primary tasks of this position. Familiarity with basic computer database, spreadsheet, word processor, GIS, and statistical software packages is desirable. A demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English language skills is required. Shall have or be able to acquire a valid driver’s license and be capable of being insured or furnishing automotive insurance. Physical fitness must be commensurate with duties.

Aquatic Biologist Level I: Starting Salary $41,931 – A minimum of one year experience, a significant portion of which includes field studies, sampling, and data analysis is required. Aquatic Biologist Level II: Starting Salary $46,963 – A minimum of three years experience, a significant portion of which includes field studies, sampling, and data analysis is required; boating experience preferred.
